Here is a full image of the Halloween piece I did for the "Monstober Fest" held at the Rothick Art Haus Gallery in Anaheim. Yup! All vector... what can I say? I <3 illustrator too much :)
Wabbit Season
Fairy Tails
Ahh, the heureux holidaze is upon us once again. I seem to do better art when I make it for the people close to me. Here is a piece for Kei. She likes the character "Tails" (aka Miles Powers) from Sonic the Hedgehog. So I combined Kei with Tails! Muhahahaha (evil mad scientist laugh)!

Mega X-Mas to All!
Hey kids! Days have been flying by so quickly I forget to post things... YEAH, RIGHT! Okay, you got me. I've been real lazy about posting things. But here is a sneak peak on a certain Mega character that I've been working on for a few days. Hopefully it gets in a certain book... by a certain Udon and a certain Capcom. Happy Holidays Y'all!

Custom-er
Hey kids! Thought I'd post up some resent custom figures I did... recently. The first one was a bref-dai gift I made for my friends during the Hallah-oween season. If you can't tell what it is... It's suppose to be Frankenberry. It's made from a foam pumpkin I got from Michaels and a Munny body. The Skeletor is for Designer Con 2010. Nate Mitchell from Squid Kids Ink is showcasing his new "So Analog" figure at D-Con with a custom show featuring over 20 artist's customs and your's truly was invited to participate. If you guys get a chance come on over to Pasadena this Saturday and check it out! If you want more info just click on the "Designer Con" words on this post. Well gotta get back to drawing things and things.

Long time no "C" ("C" is for Chito a.k.a KWESTONE")
Wow! The title is way to long. Anyhoo, I know I'm slow at updating my blog but I have a little bit of time while I sit here at A.P.E in San Fran-disco. I promise you I haven't been lazy with my art. Here are a few pieces that I did in the recent months. The "Mickey" painting was actually started while I was in Disney Land. I got an annual pass. So now I don't have to rush in the park. I actually have time to paint! BANANAS! The "Trixy and Treats" piece was done for the "Monstober Fest" held at the Rothick Art Haus Gallery in Anaheim. And finally the "Spray Can Ma-doo-sa" is something I'm just starting on. More artwork is on the way so stay tuned or stay tooned or stay TWO-ZEES!

Smash Tokyo + KWESTONE = Robot Help
I was recently reading though the Toys R Evil blog, catching up on the happenings in the toy and pop culture art world. When I came upon an article or more like a call for help from Mattyboombatty (from Smash Tokyo Toys) to help out an 11 year old boy get a new wheel chair by asking if any artist would be willing to help develop an art print that they could sell to raise money. So I wanted to help and this is a sketch of what I am submitting for my part in a collaboration piece with other artists. It's based on Smash Tokyo Toys' Seismic Ace and Bear Tank. I'll post the finished piece as soon as it's done. I'll not try to lag on this one. If you'd like to read the article or even want to help out. Here's the link...

Capcom comes to town
So I took some time off of work and headed east. While I was there I had time to just chill and work on some personal projects. One project was to try and get into Capcom's Super Street Fighter IV Fight Club. They were in need of some art. Unfortunately I was a little late. Boo to me. I've been dreaming of a chance to be a Capcom artist. Guess I got to work harder and faster. Hopefully this isn't my last chance. Anyhoo, here is the piece I finished. I know that I said that I'd put up more hand painted work but I wanted to share this piece. I also wanted to thank Dou
for emailing me my original sketch because I forgot it back east. Thanks Dou.... THOU! Enjoy!

Bunnies and Boobies
I didn't want to go too long without posting something on my blog so I dug into my images and pulled these two jems out. The "Hip-Hop" piece was donated to Trinity Care Hospice for an art show auction called "A Night of Art and Hope". It was a nice feeling to be able to raise awareness and some money for a wonderful cause. For more info please check out this link.
I did the "Howdy" piece for my friend Nate for his Berf-Dai.

Comixed emotions!
I'm excited and at the same time sick to my stomach. Trying to draw panels turned out to be more time consuming then I thought. I think that I put more detail in it then I should. I for got when comics get printed the art gets smaller. Here's a larger piece that will get shrunk down. Thought I'd share before it shrinks... Wow! that was an awkward sentence.

The Samurai Project
Earlier this year I showed a sneak peak of some of the projects I'll be working on this year. The Samurai Project is a comic book anthology that I'll be participating in along with other great indie comic artist. I'm collaborating with Ed Rodriguez on the look of the art. This isn't a hand painted piece but I wanted to share it anyway. The comic book should be out later in the year. I'll keep you guys posted as it progresses.

Belated B-Day Bag Blogged!
I'm ashamed to say that I've been kinda lazy with making gifts for my friends of late. I finally finished the Birthing day tote that I was going to give my friend Linda on her B-Day last month. Thought I'd share it with everyone else. The girl can kick a$$ with Akuma in Street Fighter. Linda, I hope your not reading this... It'll spoil your surprise. Everyone else, sshhh, don't tell her.

Sketchup & Mustard: Week 4
So the theme was Children's Poems and Fairy tails. I chose to do "Little Miss Muffet"... but a more adult version. It's acrylic on an unprimed wooden artboart. What I liked about week 4's theme was the research on children's poems. Their origins are very dark. When you get a chance you should look up the origins of your favorite Mother Goose poem. I'll give you one... "Ring around the Rosies" is about the Black Plague... oh... you knew that one... well, good for you!

This week on 1 point 21...
Score! Again! I got into another group show but this time it's at a gallery called "The Land of Odd". Check out their website at http://thelandofoddgallery.com/blog/. It's a 5X7 show so I had some trouble painting that small. Here is what I'm submitting. I'm calling it "10 paces". But I want to name the ladies "Lucy" and "Michelle". I'm trying to do a series of them. Well if your out in the Eagle Rock, CA area on the night of March 13. Come on down and check out the show!

Allow myself to introduce....myself.
So I guess I haven't really written anything about me and why I started this blog. Well, I'm vector artist by trade. I love working with Adobe illustrator but I felt this was the year that I get back to doing more hand made art work. I also believe that it's time to get some of my personal projects going that have been waiting in the wings. My day job has been taking a lot of my personal time and I'm trying to have a better work/life balance. This blog is going to keep me on course with what I want to become as an artist. You guys still awake? Anyhoo, here's a new post but old piece. It's the only surviving art piece I did back in 2004 for group show called "Still on the Loose". I printed out the images and spray mounted them to some foamcore, then hot glue gunned them together. It took 2 week to put 4 of them together. If I find old picts of the other pieces I'll post them.

Zombies just don't stop!
Zombies in Love
So I got into the art show. YAY! And it was a zombie-licious time had by all. I want to thank all my friends who made it out and to all my friends that tried to make it out to support. I love you all! Of course like the dummy that I am I didn't take enough pictures of the show. I'll ask my friends, who did take pictures, if I can post the ones they took. So stay tuned for that. I did take one of my finished pieces. It's still up for sale at www.gallerynucleus.com for those of you interested in acquiring the paintings. There are also other amazing art to purchase on their web site. But if you're in the Alhambra area stop by the gallery. The show will be up until Feb. 22nd. Kwestone Two-sies!

Things to do and...
Mulder and Skully...
I know X-Mas is over...
But I thought I'd share what I gave out as gifts to some of my close friends. And if my friends are reading this you owe me 20 buck... J/K :) So it seem that most of the artist out there in the urban pop culture world are using a lot more wood canvases these days. I wanted to try it out. I like it! The first one is the cup cake series. It's not done yet, I've got two more to go. Basically I asked the girls what their favorite animal was and put them with a cup cake. Okay, not that original but I thought it'd be cute.
